Ana L. R. Arruda, DMD, MSD
Dr. Arruda was born in Ribeirão Preto, a city in the heart of Sao Paulo, Brasil and moved to Ann Arbor, MI early in her childhood. After earning her dental degree from Case Western Reserve University and orthodontic degree from Saint Louis University, Dr. Arruda knew she wanted to bring her skill set to a big city. Exposed to the academic side of orthodontics at an early age through her father (who’s an orthodontics professor), Dr. Arruda found a passion for it.
Riddhi Desai, DMD, MSD
Dr. Desai grew up in the small town of Somerset, Pennsylvania. After earning her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, she continued her education at Oregon Health & Sciences University, earning a certificate in orthodontics. During her time in dental school, she found that the most engaging cases were those in which she built long-term relationships with her patients. Prior to joining the West Loop Orthodontics team, she conducted impressive temporomandibular joint research.

Dr. Arruda and Dr. Desai are board certified orthodontists committed to providing top of the line of patient care. Only 5% of dentists are orthodontists and only 30% of orthodontists are board certified. In order to be board certified, orthodontists must undergo rigorous written and clinical assessments as well as participate in continued orthodontic education.
When Dr. Arruda isn’t creating beautiful smiles, she can be found spending time with family and friends, coaching soccer, and giving back to the community. In Dr. Desai‘s free time, she can be found practicing her serve at the local tennis court or supporting her favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.
